Word of the Week
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."
There are so many things God delivers us from: the fear of death, a bad marriage, emotional tailspin, drugs, alcohol, and so much more.
When God brings you out of something life threatening, emotionally threatening, or makes you feel worthless, we find that Jesus is a liberator.
God enjoys bringing you out of this and saving you from that, so He can take you into His glorious plan!
What can really sandbag progress, however, is when a person keeps going back to that same place of bondage. You don’t have to be hopeless or believe what everyone else says.
That’s why Paul said in this verse, “Stand fast…” Don’t be entangled, again. God’s power is for you and it’s for now! If Paul said you can stand fast and never entangled again, then you can be confident that you don’t ever have to go back there or be in that lifestyle again!
There is enough power in heaven and earth to keep you from going there. But God needs you to make a stand.
How do you make that stand? Reset your mind!
Make up your mind that you’re not going back there, because you will be tested. The enemy doesn’t like to lose anything he’s ever had over you.
He will try to tempt you in the same area where he’s already had you: in that place of fear, that unclean place, that place of addiction, or whatever place he occupied.
He will come at you until he runs into the standard that you raise up that lets him know you’re never going back; that you’ve found a better way of living; that you found the will of God and a plan that’s worth living for!
Remind the enemy that “no weapon formed against you shall prosper!”(Isaiah 54:17)
You can make that stand, and by the grace of God you won’t ever go back to that place of bondage again!
