WORD OF THE WEEK
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 KJV
Sometimes we as Christians quote this verse and we think it doesn’t matter. We think everything is all going to work together for the good – not necessarily!
There are a lot of people, including Christians, who have things in their life that are not working together for the good. There is this thing that God calls, His purpose for your life.
As we experience His goodness, His grace and His mercy, God expects us to yield to His purpose for us, instead of us wanting our own purpose for our lives.
Sometimes if you push for your own plan and push for what you want instead of laying it down and saying, “It’s what you want Master...” things won't work out for the good.
We push for our own will and a lot of times it doesn’t work. But if you are pushing for God’s purpose, and you come into hardship, attack and setback, you should have a peace knowing that you’re pushing for what He wants.
Sometimes we can get off track and want our own way, but we can get back and get in line and say, “Oh Lord I want what you want…”
Then you have assurance of this powerful promise, that somehow, some way God is going to take all of it – the good, the bad, and the ugly – put it into the blender, and cause it to come out really, really good for you!
What is going to come out good? All THINGS! And they are going to work together. It’s going to happen for you!
You may think, “But how is that going to be? How is this ever going to work out for the good?"
That’s what God likes to do! He likes to show up in our places of question and He says, “Watch me work with this. Watch me take this mishap. Watch me take this setback. Watch me take this place of attack…”
When you are after God’s purpose, He will make those things work out so spectacular for you!
You can count on that everything going on around you, God will work for your good!
