"And the man of God said, Where fell it?  And he shewed him the place.  And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim."

2 Kings 6:6

The man in this story had been working with an axe, and as he was working the axe head came off and sunk in the water.  He went to the prophet and told him he had lost the axe head.

The prophet came over and asked where it fell, and the man pointed to the place in the water where it sank. The prophet took a stick, touched the water and the axe head came floating to the top.

As we go through life we can lose our cutting edge.  We aren’t as sensitive, sometimes we aren’t as discerning, we can lose passion, or lose sight of our purpose.  Life can take a toll on each of us and we lose things without even realizing it.

How do you get your cutting edge back?  By showing the Lord what is missing!  The Holy Spirit wants you to point to what has been lost in your life.

Don’t be in denial, but open up and tell the Lord what you’ve lost sight of.  Whether it’s your first love, your joy, your peace or your passion.

Whatever you point to, God will cause to float again and come back into your life.  How can you find something if you don’t admit you've lost it?

Show God what you think is missing in your life.  Make that your goal this week, and watch the Holy Spirit ignite passion and purpose in your life!

He will bring it back to the surface to enable you to serve Him and do all that He’s called you to do!
