"When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of man, am? So they say, "Some say art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." He said to them, But who do you say that I am?"
WORD OF THE WEEK
Jesus didn't want Peter to live off of the opinions of others.
He wanted Peter to formulate his own conviction of who Jesus was to him, and that’s what God wants for you!
Everyone has their own concept, idea or value of Jesus in your family, your friends or people at work.
It’s good to learn from them.
But God wants you to have a very personal and deep conviction of who Jesus is to YOU!
For some people, Jesus is who they meet at church on Sunday mornings, or He is who they meet when they die and go to heaven. But for others, it’s very deep and personal; Jesus is their life.
The reason Jesus came into your heart wasn’t only to meet you in heaven.
He came in to you so He could live inside of you every day of your life. Jesus wants you to hear Him, feel Him and experience Him on a day to day basis!
God’s desire isn’t for us to experience Jesus part-time, or to live off others’ concepts of who He is.
You have to make a decision that you want Jesus with you every day of your life.
Allow Him to do more than save you and deliver you, but to live in you, walk with you, talk to you, guide you, and assure you that you’re going to achieve everything He has for you!
Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” Make a decision today, to make Jesus your life!
